Stabilize Your Flight

Open Source Flight Controller Firmware for Fixed-Wing Aircraft

Wingflight is flight controller firmware and a matching configurator for sport planes, 3D and aerobatic aircraft, gliders and flying wings. Built by pilots and engineers, it is flying today and published as open source snapshots you can download and flash right now.

Now Flying — Public Snapshots

Download Wingflight

Firmware, configurator, blackbox log viewer and transmitter scripts are all public and updated continuously. Wingflight is still an early-stage project: builds ship as numbered snapshots rather than stable releases, so read the release notes before you flash and back up your setup before tuning.

Snapshot builds for STM32 F4, F7, G4 and H7 targets

Runs on the hardware you already fly Common Rotorflight flight controllers are well supported, including the Nexus F7, Nexus X, Nexus XR and the Vantac RF007.

Coming from Rotorflight? The migration tool helps you move an existing setup across, and the getting started guide walks through flashing, first connection and setup.

Why Wingflight?

Flight control built around fixed-wing aerodynamics, not adapted from helicopters

⚙️

Advanced Stabilization

Multi-axis stabilization system optimized for winged aircraft dynamics and challenging flight conditions.

📡

Fixed-Wing Flight Modes

Attitude hold, auto hover, auto trim, trainer mode, cross-axis relax and a throttle governor, each designed for aircraft with control surfaces.

🚀

Multi-Aircraft Support

Sport and scale planes, 3D and aerobatic models, gliders, flying wings and deltas, with thrust vectoring for aircraft that need it.

🔧

Configure Anywhere

Set up your aircraft from the desktop configurator or straight from the browser, with bus servo support and ESC programming from the PC.

🌐

Active Community

Thriving open source ecosystem where pilots and engineers collaborate on improvements and innovations.

📊

Telemetry & Blackbox

Blackbox logging with its own log viewer, plus Lua suites that put live telemetry and tuning on FrSky Ethos and EdgeTX transmitters.

About Wingflight

Wingflight is an open source flight controller firmware forked from Rotorflight and refocused entirely on fixed-wing flight. It keeps Rotorflight's MSP protocol, CLI and configuration philosophy, but its mixer, flight modes and tuning tools are built around aileron, elevator and rudder surfaces, propeller motors and cross-axis coupling rather than swashplates and tail rotors.

The project is young and moving fast. Firmware and configurator are published as numbered snapshots, the documentation grows with every build, and development happens in the open on GitHub and Discord. Our mission is to make advanced flight control accessible to every pilot, and contributions, flight reports and bug reports all shape where it goes next.

🪂 For Sport & Scale

Calm, predictable stabilization with auto trim and a trainer mode for relaxed flying.

🎯 For 3D & Aerobatics

Full authority control with attitude hold and auto hover for hard aerobatic flying.

⚡ For Wings & Deltas

Mixers for conventional and delta airframes, plus thrust vectoring with its own hold mode.
